Fibalon Compact

Replaces the cartridge filter. Facilitates cleaning in all electric robots. Retains dirt in the basket of the self-priming pump. The deliberately chosen spherical shape maximises the filtration surface of the filter medium. Filtration capacity down to 8 microns. Saves energy, chemicals and water.

The inside of the fibrous ball consists of a slightly denser core and a softer shell. The balls are huddled together to form a consistent filter bed. We also developed the DyFix® fibre attachment which produces an unusually high particle retention rate and deep particle penetration into the media bed to provide excellent filtration results.

My filter is full of sand, can I use Fibalon?

Fibalon can be used in any filter. If your filter is currently filled with sand or glass filter media, it is simply necessary to empty the filter before adding Fibalon. It is not essential to remove every last grain of sand, as Fibalon will filter out the remains. Sand leaks into the pool are history.

can Fibalon be backwashed?

The washing and rinsing procedure is done in the same way as it would be done with sand or glass filter media. Fibalon, however, reduces the number of backwashes required, saving water and energy

what particle size does it filter out of the water?

Fibalon has a selectivity of approximately 10 microns, a characteristic that guarantees a filtration level up to 4 times higher than sand. Laboratory tests in Germany showed that 50% of the particles filtered were smaller than 13.46 microns, and 10% were smaller than 3.48 microns (1 micron = 0.001 mm). On a reference level, the sand is capable of filtering down to approximately 40 microns, depending on the grade.

how is Fibalon installed?

Fibalon is very easy to install: it is simply used in place of regular filter sand or glass. When adding Fibalon to the filter, be sure to simply fill it without squeezing the balls. If they are crushed or compressed, the filtration quality would not be optimal.

is it compatible with automatic backwash systems?

Fibalon offers very little resistance during filtration, only 20 mbar in fact. Because of this, automatic selector valves may not come into operation due to insufficient pressure. In this case, we recommend that backwashing is programmed or carried out manually.
