what is filtration?

Filtration is one of the most important tasks when cleaning and disinfecting our pool.

Within the filtration system, as an outstanding element, is the filter, since it is in charge of, as the water circulates through its interior, retaining the dirt particles in its filtering bed, either sand or glass, to later return the water to the pool crystal clear and suitable for swimming.

When selecting the ideal filter for our pool, several aspects must be taken into account, such as the size of the pool and the power of the pump that will accompany the filter.

Design and high performance

In the Sena family of pumps, both maximum flow and low noise levels go hand in hand with the intention of fully satisfying the demands of the private pool and with an attractive design that is already characteristic of AstralPool. It is worth mentioning its self-suction capacity, over 2 meters without foot valve. In addition, the Sena pumps are made of technical plastics with a pre-filter of 2 liters capacity and its transparent cover allows to see the inside of the pre-filter.

The Sena family is available from 1/3 hp to 1.25 hp with single-phase motors and from 3/4 hp to 1.25 hp in three-phase motors allowing to work at 230 V and 230/400 V with a variation of ± 10% with respect to the nominal voltage due to the incorporation of eurovoltage motors.

Sena pumps comply with the specifications of the EN-60335-2-41\A1:2001 standard, which has led to obtaining the TÜV-GS marking.

Simple and reliable

Sena pumps are a simple solution for pumping water from swimming pools and water features with low to medium flow requirements. Pumps are easy to install thanks to the fittings already included.

Small dimensions

Built to be a compact self-priming pump. All Sena references are shorter than 490 mm and narrower than 200 mm. A pump that fits even in the smallest technical boxes.

For all types of pools

Available in single-phase and three-phase motors, Sena pumps can serve from 3.5 to 16 m3/h. Supports all common chemical treatments, including salt water chlorination.

Low noise level

Sena pumps work at full performance with an optimum noise level for all models, thus minimizing the perceived noise effects in the pool environment.

Practical design

The entire range of Sena pumps incorporates the bayonet lock on its pre-filter cover, which allows the pump pre-filter to be closed in four different positions in a single movement. The cross configuration of the prefilter cover allows the use of any tool to open or close it. Also, to fix the foot to the pump body, we have chosen a foot of great stability and easy assembly, eliminating the screws as one of its components.

Filtering Glass

Saves in washing and water, as well as in energy costs and chemical treatments. Its angular shape and silica content improves turbidity by 30%. Generally collects finer particles from water than its silex equivalent. Its non-porous shape means that no lumps or preferential channels are formed. With superior permeability, washing requires less time, saving water, energy and chemical treatments.

It is less susceptible to "bio-fouling" due to its smooth surface, so bacteria cannot get trapped in cracks and crevices, resulting in less chemical use.

It is less dense than silex, requiring 15% less product.

It has a longer life because it does not degrade and does not need to be replaced.
