Operating principle

LOW SALINITY HYDROLYSIS AND/OR ELECTROLYSIS

Water is composed of 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen (H2O). Hydrolysis means, etymologically, decomposition by water. Hydrolysis is a process to generate hydrogen and oxygen by means of electricity and water.

When electric current passes through water, the chemical bond is broken, negative charges or oxygen ions migrate to the positive electrode (anode). The positively charged hydrogen ions are attracted to the negative electrode (cathode). The decomposition that takes place is as follows:

Electric energy +2 H2O --> 2 H2 + O2

This results in an extra negative element, as the number of electrons in the combination exceeds the number of protons by 1. It is now a single negatively charged hydroxide, or hydroxyl ion (OH- ).

In HYDROLYSIS there are numerous secondary chemical reactions, which also produce ionic species with oxidising and disinfecting power, such as ozone (O3), monoatomic oxygen (O1) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

The electronic circuit of our electronic box transforms the current (220 V, 50 Hz) into low voltage, high amperage direct current. This current is supplied to noble metal-activated titanium electrodes placed in the recirculating water in a specially designed holder.

In these non-soluble electrodes, a combination of the most powerful oxidants available for water disinfection is created, thus avoiding the use of chemical products.

If in this treatment we incorporate a very small amount of salt (between 1 and 2gr salt per litre of water) either due to a lack of conductivity or because we generally want a tangible residual, we will achieve that the same system also generates a residual of chlorine by saline electrolysis at low concentration. The products decompose, act and regenerate again. The residual disinfectant generated by electrolysis does not harm the eyes, skin or health of the bather. It does not matter if we run out of salt in the water, as the system will continue disinfecting in HYDROLYSISIS mode. The chlorine generated destroys the organic matter and pathogens present in the water, transforming it back into sodium chloride (common salt).

IONISATION OF COPPER (CU) AND SILVER (AG)

The combination of 2 components Copper and Silver with disinfection capacity increases the effectiveness of each of our systems in a wide way, if in addition, in the case of cold water, it is supported by the presence of a third one that can be combined (chlorine), the disinfectant progression is geometric.

The contribution of metals to water as disinfectants apparently dates back to ancient times, when the Phoenicians inserted silver coins in ceramic and copper amphorae to preserve water.

The Greeks found that putting copper coins in the jars prevented the water from corrupting. The Egyptians, on the other hand, put silver coins in the jars to prevent contamination.

In the Middle Ages, mothers knew that feeding their children with silver spoons protected them from many diseases.

Many airlines use silver ions to protect the water they give passengers to drink on their flights. In more than 70 countries, silver ions are added to beverages, beers, spirits and wines.

In America, during the colonisation of the old west, there was also the custom of introducing a silver dollar for the preservation of water barrels.

James C.V. 1971, reports that all silver salts are bactericidal and that silver particles dissolved in water at a concentration of 10-5 is toxic to E. coli and Bacillus types.

The Cu/Ag ionisation technology available today was developed by NASA at the beginning of the space programme, in order to have a safe method of water purification to take into space.
